Why YoungOnes ditched LinkedIn for Tempo

After having a record-breaking few years, YoungOnes, a Dutch-based jobs platform, recently launched their UK base. We recently caught up with the UK Country Manager, Johan de Jager, who has been tasked with hiring new sales talent to fuel their UK growth.

 

The Company 

YoungOnes is a platform that helps freelancers decide where and when they want to work across the hospitality, retail and events industries. From starting up in 2017, YoungOnes are now recognised as one of the fastest growing companies in the Netherlands, with over 500,000 matches having already been made between freelancers and clients. 

 

Challenges 

YoungOnes were previously using traditional outreach methods, such as LinkedIn and waiting for inbound applications. Johan realised this was taking too much time and effort, and as a a result, finding the right candidates to fill junior-level sales positions became a struggle. 

 

Solution

On a mission to find the perfect candidates at a much faster rate, Johan started using Tempo. He found that accessing a significant number of candidates straight away was a massive benefit for him. Tempo’s algorithm automatically matched qualified, high-quality candidates for positions within YoungOnes.

“It was really amazing to have a whole bunch of candidates that are pre-qualified. They’re relevant. They work in similar industries. They have the right experience that you’re looking for and that really helped us to feel like you have a stronger pipeline to recruit from straight away.”

From the pool of high-quality candidates, YoungOnes were successful in making a permanent hire within their Sales team. Following this, YoungOnes went on to also make two permanent hires within their Customer Support team.

 

What do you like most about Tempo?

“It was a really all-encompassing product which I found was really helpful throughout the process. From qualifying calls, making an offer and hiring somebody, this was all done in one place, and that was really great for us.”
